Blue Star 1.5-2" Crushed Gravel

Blue Star 1.5-2″ is a premium crushed landscaping gravel featuring a striking blue-gray hue with sharp, angular edges. This larger crushed stone is ideal for driveway base layers, drainage systems, and erosion control, offering the compaction strength and open-void drainage that finer gravel and smooth river rock can’t match.

SIZE

1.5-2″ inches

ANGULAR, INTERLOCKING SHAPE

Crushed with sharp, angular edges that lock together under pressure. At this larger size, Blue Star holds its position under heavy loads and running water better than smaller gravel, making it a strong choice for structural base layers and drainage applications where stone needs to stay put.

DURABLE LIMESTONE ORIGIN

Quarried and crushed from regional limestone deposits, processed to hold up under South Texas heat, heavy rainfall, and repeated vehicle or foundation loads.

COLOR COMPATIBILITY

The cool blue-gray tone complements modern exteriors, gray or blue-toned homes, and pairs well with concrete, pavers, and contemporary landscape design.

Recommended Uses

Blue Star 1.5-2″ is best suited for structural and drainage-focused applications where a larger, open-void stone performs better than fine gravel.

  • Driveway base layer: A common structural base beneath a compacted top layer — the larger size resists shifting under vehicle weight better than fine gravel.
  • French drains and drainage channels: The larger voids between stones allow water to flow through quickly, making this size especially effective for drainage systems and around foundations.
  • Erosion control and slope stabilization: Weight and angularity help hold soil in place on slopes, embankments, and drainage swales.
  • Foundation and structural base material: Specified by contractors for shed pads, concrete footings, and other load-bearing fill.
  • Oversized decorative accents: Works well around fire pits, water features, and dry creek beds where a bolder stone size fits the design.

How does Delivery work?

Here at the Rock Depot, we try to make the delivery process is designed to be as pain-free as possible.

  • Where do you deliver? We typically deliver to your driveway, though special requests can be made and are up to the discretion of the driver.
  • Are all drop locations accessible? Most drop locations are accessible unless you order 25 tons or more, which requires an 18-wheeler delivery and may need special access considerations.
  • Do I need to be there when they deliver? No, but it is highly recommended that someone be there to direct the driver. Once the material is dropped, not much can be done about it.
  • Can you spread the material? Due to the nature of a dump trailer, we aren’t able to spread the material very much. If there is room, we are able to drag drop the material to make the pile more manageable. For comprehensive landscaping, contact Padre Landscapes at (361)-949-6999
  • How much material can you haul at a time? For most deliveries, we can haul up to 5 cubic yards at a time. If you purchase 25 tons or more, the delivery will be carried out with an 18-wheeler.

Material Disclaimer

Due to the delivery process, your material may look a different color (usually a lighter color) from the desired look upon dumping. This is due to dust buildup from transferring material. Thoroughly wash the material after installation to achieve the correct look.

How Much Material Do You Need?

Use this calculator to find out!

One cubic yard usually covers anywhere from 80-120 square feet, depending on thickness.

For larger size materials (3″+), coverage ranges 60-100 square feet.
