Crushed gravel for landscaping is one of the most versatile materials we carry, valued for its angular shape that locks together and compacts under pressure — something smooth river rock can’t do.
Crushed gravel for landscaping is best suited for:
- Driveway base and topcoat: Compacts tightly for a stable, low-maintenance driving surface.
- Paver and patio sub-base: Provides drainage and a stable foundation beneath pavers or flagstone.

Most of our crushed gravel for landscaping is kept readily in stock — White Limestone, Black Star, and Blue Star are local materials we carry year-round. Bull rock and rip rap sizes can have more limited availability due to demand. For larger orders (25+ tons or more), please contact our office to confirm availability.

How Does Delivery Work?
Here at the Rock Depot, we try to make the delivery process as pain-free as possible.
- Where do you deliver? We typically deliver to your driveway, though special requests can be made and are up to the discretion of the driver.
- Are all drop locations accessible? Most drop locations are accessible unless you order 25 tons or more, which requires an 18-wheeler delivery and may need special access considerations.
- Do I need to be there when they deliver? No, but it is highly recommended that someone be there to direct the driver. Once the material is dropped, not much can be done about it.
- Can you spread the material? Due to the nature of a dump trailer, we aren’t able to spread the material very much. If there is room, we are able to drag drop the material to make the pile more manageable. For comprehensive landscaping, contact Padre Landscapes at (361)-949-6999
- How much material can you haul at a time? For most deliveries, we can haul up to 6 cubic yards at a time. If you purchase 25 tons or more, the delivery will be carried out with an 18-wheeler.
Material Disclaimer
Due to the delivery process, your material may look a different color (usually a lighter color) from the desired look upon dumping. This is due to dust buildup from transferring material. Thoroughly wash the material after installation to achieve the correct look.
